1. How long will the process take?
Approximately 4-6 weeks from sketch to final painting

2. What is the price of a portrait?
Prices for all unframed, stretched, oil on canvas paintings depend on
size, complexity, number of animals, etc. To secure a commission and
receive a sketch, please send a deposit equal to half the estimated portrait price

3. How big will the picture be?
Available canvas sizes are 8" x 10", 11" x 14", 16" x 20", 18" x 24",
24" x 30" Custom sizes per request

4. What medium (e.g., oil paint, acrylic, pastels) will the artist use?
All paintings are done in the style of the old masters. Layers of oil paint applied to a primed canvas, finished off with a glossy protective varnish

5. Will the portrait be on paper, canvas, wood or something else?
All Paintings are executed on high-quality stretched canvas, primed with gesso for texture and surface

6. Does the artist require a deposit?
Yes. 1/2 the final portrait price is due at the beginning of each project to secure a commission

7. Do you have to buy the finished product?
Yes, the deposit is non-refundable and the remaining payment is due at the completion of each painting

8. Will the artist provide a sketch or a proof of the portrait for your approval?
After we discuss the details of a portrait, a sketch will be provided to you for approval. After you are satisfied with the idea, concept and general "tone" of the piece, the painting will begin

9. Have you explained your pet's personality and the mood you'd like the artwork to convey?
This is the first step in the commission process!

10. Have you discussed the portrait background?
The background imagery will be created at the artist's discretion. An old master, renaissance-era inspired background is incorporated into all paintings. I will happily accomodate other background requests

11. Do you want your pet's name on the picture?
Hand-painted typography in your pet's name is available at no extra cost

12. What are your framing options?
All canvases are shipped unframed

13. Will your original photos be returned?
ALL photos sent to the artist will be returned in their original condition after the painting is completed

14. How do I send my photos to the artist?
