Luis Ramos Jr is a Pet Portrait Fine Artist based in New York City. His work explores the intersection of history, memory, whimsy and emotion through expressive brushwork, careful observation and rich color handling beautifully reflected in each painting.
 

My first pet portrait was of my own two dogs, Simon and Mabel. I'd always admired the  artistic traditions from the past and thought how amazing it would be to create my own renaissance-inspired masterpiece. I got to work. After completing the portrait, friends and family loved it and would ask "Where did you get that painting of your dogs?" An idea was sparked and "Petcasso" was born. I've been painting pet portraits ever since.

With my background in classical drawing/painting and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Parsons School of Design NY, "Petcasso" combines traditional techniques with modern abstraction in every painting. Consider your own pet portrait today!
